How we check codes

Last updated: October 24, 2026

Every store page on Coupeal shows the date it was last checked. Here's what happens behind that date.

1. Codes come from two places

Official codes are given to us by the store through its affiliate program. Public codes are ones the store shows on its own website, for example in a banner or on a sale page.

2. We read the store's own website

Our system visits each store's website regularly and reads its home page, shipping policy, return policy and current sales. We use software, including AI, to pull out facts such as the free-shipping amount or the number of days for returns. Every fact must match text on the store's own pages; if we can't find the exact wording, we leave the fact out.

3. Shoppers tell us what works

After you copy a code you can tell us if it worked. When a code gets enough votes, the page shows how many shoppers it worked for recently.

4. We remove expired codes

Codes with an end date disappear after that date. Codes the store stops showing, or that shoppers report as broken, are removed after we check them.

Trust signals

Each store page shows six signals: how long the store has been in business, whether it publishes a return policy and shipping information, whether it accepts payment methods with buyer protection (such as PayPal), whether it lists a contact email, and whether it shows customer reviews. These come from the store's own website. They show that a store is set up properly, but they don't guarantee every order.
